BMW has updated its new 3 Series Efficient Power Range with the 320d ED sport model. Based on the most recently introduced ultra-low emission 320D ED, it adds sporty styling trim upgrades without unduly compromising its class-leading efficiency.
The ED Sport Spec costs £7,985 for Saloon and £32,285 and brings larger 17in alloy wheels, 18in and even 19in optional. Inside, upgrades through the standard ED include a business navigation system, Dakota leather room, a sports steering wheel, unique trim finishes and heated sports front seats.

Fuel economy drops slightly to 70.6MPg for all the extra kit offered on Sport mode. CO2 emissions have also risen slightly, with the ED Sport Saloon Auto Cult Auto Cult Auto Changer increasing to 104g/km, while the Sport Touring model is up 12g/km to 111g/km. BMW claims the average monthly cost of having a Sport mode is just £3, instead of the standard ed.
The engine is the same 163BHP 2.0-litre diesel offered with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. The manual adds 3-4G/km of CO2 compared to the automatic. No compromise on performance, however - the 320ded Sport hits 62mph in 7.8 seconds and 143mph on high.
